About Me
Akela Dogbe (M.A., EML.) is the founder and CEO of EvolvED Leadership Group LLC™. She is a passionate and visionary leader striving to help leaders transform their organizations into equitable communities of excellence.
She is a certified leadership coach and mentor with over 20 years of experience leading public and private educational organizations, community training centers, and professional development centers. She teaches clients to develop clear and detailed visions for their leadership journey by identifying and magnifying their core values. Her coaching guidelines are clear: Learn Always, Look to Evolve, and Lean into Leadership.
Akela is a well-known and respected administrator in Washington, D.C., and an expert in K-12 school transformation. She knows firsthand the importance of developing and motivating a team to meet transformational goals. Over the years, she’s pioneered an adaptive approach that includes small-group instruction, high-impact tutoring, and digital learning. The result is a highly effective mixed-model plan that has raised yearly reading and math scores by 15% and 20%, respectively.
In 2023, Akela completed the prestigious Relay Graduate School of Education’s Leverage Leadership Fellowship under the guidance of Paul Bambrick-Santoyo. As adjunct faculty at Relay Graduate School of Education, she has national reach and impact as she guides school and district leaders to leverage targeted feedback, an equitable culture, data-driven outcomes, and rigorous planning.
As a leading curriculum developer, Akela designs comprehensive and culturally responsive curricula for public, parochial, and private schools. She also applies her extensive knowledge of effective instructional design models to serve community organizations, publishing houses, and research consortiums. She pushes organizations to support and optimize human capital for growth. People are an organization’s most precious asset, and if they are happy and well-led, they will take care of the business.

Akela is certified by the National Association of Elementary School Principals as a Principal Mentor. She is actively engaged with the School Principal in Residence Program in the District of Columbia Public School System (DCPS); where she evaluates potential school leaders providing them vital organizational management strategies.
Akela is a proud graduate of Spelman College, where she received her B.A. in English. She has a Master’s Degree in Educational Policy from Loyola University Chicago and Executive Leadership from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. She also serves as a board member for Lee Montessori School. She is happily married to Mr. Kelali Dogbe, an IT Accessibility subject matter expert for the Federal Government. They reside with their two kids and dog in Calvert County, Maryland.
